A death cult of The Dark One is flourishing, practicing sacrifice as a way of offering tribute to their deity by preying on nearby jungle tribespeople. This is disrupting supplies for the walled dwarven market town of Chim's most unique product - rubber.
Masallas the Altanian rubber tree farmer is offering gold to a new band of heroes willing to put the cult to the sword ensuring the security of settlements throughout the area. A good chunk of change is just what you adventurers need to escape the back-water of Ghinor and purchase ship passage north to Rallu, famed City State of the Sea Kings who claim descent from ship captains of the ancient Kingdom of Kelnore.
The adventuring party travels from the Dwarven outpost of Chim on the tip of Devil's Tongue Peninsula down into the Screaming Hyena Jungle. Their task is to uncover and weaken the newly awakened Death Cult of the Dark One, to thereby earn enough for ship's passage northward to the City State.
